Please please please pray and/or keep my baby in your thoughts. Hes been moved back downstairs after they found blood in his stool twice. X-rays point to a condition called necrotizing enterocolitis. It is the death of the intestinal wall and apparently common in premature babies. However, its a very serious condition that could require multiple surgeries and even leads to death in 25% of cases. The doctor said that it was caught very early - provided its the proper diagnosis. They have taken him off of feedings. He has an IV in his hand. Hes on aggressive antibiotics, too. This course will last at least a week. At that point he will be able to start back on feedings. This is worst case scenario. Best case is that hes dealing with a milk protein allergy. We will know more in what will prove to be the longest 48 hours of my life. As you can imagine, Im a total wreck. So you all feel free to send some sanity my way. Ann Roper Price and Kevin Davis
