Please pray for Carolyn, this week. This time of the year is always difficult for her and is filled with a mixture of deep grief and pain. Just prior to her 12th birthday in 1964, her father passed on to glory with His Lord but left a deep hole in her heart, as well as in the heart of her older teen sister and widowed grieving mother. On May 11th, her fathers earthly remains were laid to rest beneath the soil. The following day was her May 12th birthday. This year as we approach May 8th, the day of her fathers passing, she is busy writing radio devotionals and health talks and recording them, doing an expense report, preparations and packing for our trip to Nairobi this Friday to go the States for a few weeks, returning July 1st, God willing. (I brought her flowers this morning to cheer, comfort, and brighten her day/s). Then as we are in Nairobi and Sunday, May 11th comes, (the day of her fathers funeral and burial), which is Mothers Day, we co-preach at Good Shepherd Africa Gospel Church on Ngong Rd. Monday, May 12th, is her birthday. She will have grieved her fathers loss again from 50 years ago again feeling that pain and sense of helplessness she so keenly recalls and begin to rejoice and celebrate her birthday on Monday. We fly out for the USA on May 14th. Pray for her comfort and healing during these difficult and stressful days yet her joyful faith and blessing. Any message to her with your kind words of comfort for her difficult days of May 8th and 11th, and prayers for her co-ministry with me Sunday at Good Shepherd on Mothers Day this Sunday, and her birthday on Monday, May 12th and well-wishes for our travels to the States, Wednesday, May 14th, will truly be a blessing and comfort to her and me also as you genuinely share her grief, pain, loss, work-load, and the conflicting floods of sad and joyful memories and emotions that sweep over her.
