Please pray for my husband Darrell (Dard~). He has been in the hospital since Thursday. It all started a couple of weeks ago. He has diabetic neuropathy and doesnt have any feeling in his feet. He was checking his feet for sores and found a big hole on the bottom of his foot beneath his second toe that had turned black and was infected. We figured a rock had unknowingly got in his shoe but didnt find one. So he doctored it for ten days and it was all healed up. He had to get up Tuesday morning at 5am and put shoes on that he hadnt worn in awhile. He worked all day in his shop till 8pm. When he took his shoes off he rubbed his foot and his sock was soaked in blood and he had another hole in his foot twice the size of the first one! We looked at one another and I immediately grabbed his shoe. There was a jagged rusty roofing nail stuck through the bottom of his shoe and had been sticking up in his foot all that time and dug out a hole a half inch or so deep. He doctored it well again, but within 36 hours it was infected and swollen with red streaks running all the way to his knee. They say he is not out of the woods yet but things are looking much better and he may be able to go home tomorrow. He will have to continue intravenous antibiotics for five more days at home. He says the moral of the story is to wear hard soled shoes when youre a diabetic!
