This story may help you understand why the U.S. Supreme Court authorizes law enforcement officers to use reasonable and necessary force, to include deadly force, when protecting their lives or the lives of others, like you! It will also illustrate that deadly force does not always mean firearm or a suspect firearm. A fellow officer once testified every call is a gun call because the officer brings one. The hope is that the officer is not incapacitated and he/she can keep control of the firearm. The streets are getting more and more dangerous for officers and citizens.
