Ringwood Raceway hosts the UNLIMITED UK OPEN National banger championship this year on Saturday 6th December, and although it will be our last unlimited event of the season we are looking to make sure it will be the highlight event of the season! Last years event was one of the best with some superb action from drivers all cross the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Holland 382 Jack Foster Jnr won the main final which all I can say was epic. A fine entry from the levellers with some real tin and of course the fine entertainment displayed by 591 Marc Blower. The Wild Boyz, DWO and Bears were out in force to provide us with some cracking action We also had the contintentals in the form of the Boogiemen, Wesley Wambeke, Marc Schottert, Junko, Christian Van den Most, Dennis Vorkink and not forgetting the hard hitting Team United. The Irish even prevailed with entries from Willy Ogilby, Mike Flaherty, Steve Reynolds and little Stevo Mcgrath The Locals certainly put up a cracking show to give the visitors a warm welcome, so many to mention, Dave Thomas and Trummer were just 2 men on a mission, a rare crashing moment for Jason Burt to return him to his former days:-) Some fine American muscle were produced in the hands of local men Scott Weldon and Swampy the later put his to yank to good use. We intend to making this event very special and firmly put a statement that ringwood intend to host one of biggest unlimited dates in the sports calender We have put the prize fund back to its original £5,000 payout. Away from this we intend to be paying each unlimited only driver who is booked in and races start money of £100 per driver. We ask drivers to produce some fine material as before to help give us the best meeting we can. Prize monies will be split as before, with awards for entertainers, best wrecked, material, best presented, and more This special event is to be geared up to providing both driver and spectator a quality show not to be missed! space will be on a first come first in basis, we are looking to list material that you intend to use also. Sponsorship opportunities are available for each heat, Final and DD and various awards. Build spec will be orci national banger rules, we will be allowing lock diffs, cam and dizzy guards bot not excessive. WE WILL BE ALLOWING SLIDING PROPS AND SHAFTS The Tyre Ruling will be as follows Maximum tread width 235 on Unlimiteds Lowest Profile is 50 profile The following type of tyres not allowed Use racing tyres, Nobbly or any type of competition tyre / Tyres suitable for Track Day use even if they are road legal, Town & Country tyres, 7.3 Avon Turbo Speeds, Yokohama’s, Goodyear eagle f1s, Federal 595 RS-Rs, Colway, or any Tread cut tyres, Tyre with the markings erased. All ‘runflat’ tyres are also banned from use. All wheel nuts/bolts must be fitted. Ringwood Raceway reserve the right to ban any tyre make or type which give an unfair advantage. Weather Speed’s are permitted. The only Toyo branded tyres that are permitted is the Toyo PXT1R’s and the Toyo CF1 only. We intend on this event being something very spectacular and will endeavour to provide you the drivers and spectators a memorable event as we see out 2014!
