"Please send your resume to resumes@gallopresources Position Type :Contract Sector :Information Technology Experience :5 years Location :Columbus, Ohio Citizen:Born citizen only Description Oracle DBA III: Oracle database - enterprise edition - 9i, 10g, 11g Installation of above versions of Oracle Oracle upgrades, Application of Oracle minor releases and security patches, RMAN backups and recovery, Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), SQL tuning and PL/SQL experience, Oracle OEM (grid control), UNIX shell scripting, Oracle Partitioning, Database design and layout, Oracle DataGuard, Experience with UNIX based operating systems (as it pertains to database administration) - Oracle/RedHat Linux, Solaris, AIX, Enterprise level change management processes and procedures, IBM Tivoli TSM/TDPO and/or Legato tape management systems. This position will have a period of when the worker will work standard work hours. Once the consultant gets their feet on the ground they will be expected to work off hours. Those hours right now are expected to be 2:00 AM - 10:00 AM. The consultant can work from either Pittsburgh, Cleveland or Columbus. Neither location out weighs the other. Phone interviews will be conducted by a technical team. Summary: Responsible for coordinating changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database. Education/Experience: 2 year technical degree in computer programming or equivalent training required. Bachelor degree preferred. 6 to 8 years experience required. Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work independently and manage one s time. Strong knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems. Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions. Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations. Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
