Please share - Severe weather key points to consider... 10 key points • The “high risk” period for travel is expected to be between 7am and 9am • When you wake up check the conditions, check your local media and make a common sense decision • We are advising people to delay travel until after this period if at all possible. • Drivers should be aware of the risks of flying debris, fallen trees and reduced visibility due to rainfall and surface water spray. • Anyone thinking about travelling should listen to local radio to check for road closure and disruption updates. • Many schools have not yet declared whether they are open so we would urge parents to monitor local media over the next couple of hours and make their plans accordingly. • People who work outside, particularly work involving ladders and scaffolding should delay their start until the weather has passed. • Dustbin collections across the county have also been delayed this morning to reduce the risk of emptied bins being blown around and causing disruption on the roads. Scheduled collections will take place later. • There is a potential for isolated flooding. Please monitor the Environment Agency website for the latest information. • Please do not report incidents or ask for help via our agencies social media channels as they are not monitored continuously. Report issues via 101 and if you feel that your are experiencing a genuine emergency and you are at risk, call 999.
