Please share... Help Typhoon Yolanda Victims, Help the Philippines! Submitted by sweetrhizza14 on November 09th, 2013 – Flag this news as inappropriate Category: News It is very heartbreaking to watch the news; blowing apart houses, storm surges, landslides, ruined infrastructures, cars lying upside down, uprooted palm trees, and crying children. All I can see are images of a helpless Philippines, victimized by a storm of destruction. Super Typhoon Yolanda with an international name “Haiyan” is possibly the strongest typhoon in the world this year, and the fourth strongest storm ever recorded. The monster typhoon devastated many parts of the Philippines on Friday, November 8, 2013, forcing millions of Filipinos to evacuate on a safer ground. The most affected provinces are mainly in the Visayas area: Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz, Samar, Negros, and Leyte. As to date, many people are crying for help. There are areas that cannot be reached with any means of help due to cut of communications and impassable roads. But the government and other organizations are trying their best to reach out to the victims. According to Philippine Red Cross, up to 1,200 people were killed by typhoon Yolanda. It’s very sad to know that the casualties and damage from Typhoon Haiyan is expected to rise sharply as rescue workers and soldiers reach areas. Readers across the world, I am writing this to appeal in your generous hearts. In your own little ways, you can help the Philippines.
