Much of what you read on the internet about it is wrong. You hear the phrase used often to describe an actors performance - usually when theyre overacting or throwing tantrums on set or living as the character off-camera too. In reality, none of these things have anything to do with the Method. Nothing. Method Acting has been called everything from brilliant to dangerous (and I believe it can be both)... BUT, theres a reason it’s still used. And, that the ranks of Method trained actors include: Christian Bale, Marlon Brando, Adrien Brody, Nicolas Cage, Michael Caine, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Chastain, Glenn Close, Bradley Cooper, Daniel Day-Lewis, James Dean, Robert De Niro, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Fonda, Hilary Swank, Tom Hanks, Ed Harris, Anne Hathaway, Dustin Hoffman, Heath Ledger, Matthew McConaughey, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Nicholson, Gary Oldman, Al Pacino, Joaquin Phoenix, Meryl Streep, Christoph Waltz, etc… This workshop will teach you to use some of the techniques of Method Acting to help you feel the required emotion, reliably, take after take, WITHOUT THE NEED OF OTHER ACTORS and more powerfully than any technique you’ve ever used. Nothing works as well when shooting the Close-up. We’ll use Lecture, Q&A, and exercises during this workshop. Teachers Bio: Scott Rogers served as an Acting Coach for 20th Century Fox Studios under a 3-year, exclusive contract. He served as Acting Coach on the feature film “Barbarian Princess” starring Barry Pepper, Will Patton, and Q’orianka Kilcher. Scott has coached principle actors, for more than 3000 hours on the sets of motion pictures and national television shows. He has produced, cast, and/or directed more than 100 professional productions and written, directed, and produced dozens of TV commercials. He was the full-time, on-set, Acting Coach for the TV series’ North Shore and Baywatch. Scotts clients include series regular and principle actors on shows like LOST, Hawaii Five-0, Friday Night Lights and actors appearing in: Indiana Jones & the Crystal Skull, 50 First Dates, ER, Pearl Harbor, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Rundown, Tears of the Sun, Blue Crush, Lilo & Stich, and many more.
