There are three ways to end up in a behavior modification program. Behavior modification programs include residential treatment centers, boot camps, and wilderness programs. The three roads to ending up at one of the above facilities are: A. As an alternative to jail or juvenile hall. As an alternative to placement in foster homes when no homes are available. (Social Workers attest to this in WA, MA, & NY) C. Parents pay for the private incarceration of their children. 1. Were you a “high risk” teen? Answer yes to 6 of the following and these reform programs claim you are/were likely to commit a felony by age 25. 2. Overview--there are over 1500 programs. 1. Teen Challenge, founded by Mel Sembler (2000-2004, US Ambassador to Italy and friend of the Bush family. Also currently heading up the legal defense fund for VP Dick Cheneys former chief of staff I. Lewis Scooter Libby) Mel and Betty Sembler also founded Straight, Inc. in the 1970s which was shut down in the 1980s for torturing children. They are now acting with full authority over the Drug Free America Foundation and Teen Challenge to continue their methods of torture and abuse in reforming teens. Methods used by WWASPS were designed by David Gilcrease, one of the descendants of the founders of Phillips Petroleum. Robert Lichfield and his family are also part owners of WWASPS. Found guilty of fraud and other charges multiple times. Just this year WWASPS Academy at Ivy Ridge was fined by New York State Atty General for giving unauthorized and unaccredited diplomas to graduates. Theyve also been found guilty of child torture in facilities in Mexico, the Czech Republic, and Costa Rica. These have been closed down in the past few years. Charges are still pending against Robert Lichfield in Costa Rica for denying teens their civil and human rights afforded by law. Provo Canyon School has been found guilty of cruel and inhumane treatment of children in multiple lawsuits including Milonas and Rice vs. Provo Canyon School and Taylor vs. Provo Canyon School. Bethel Boys Academy has been raided by the authorities multiple times and yet is still operating. The FBI shut down Bethel Girls Academy after a few girls escaped with severe injuries and reported the abuse to authorities. Bethel Boys Academy is raided, kids are sent home.
