With bases all around the world, from New York to Sydney, Friendship circle currently has over 11,00 teens volunteering and 6,000 special needs children attending programs. Programs range from Friends at Home, where teens visit a child in there home, to Sunday Circle where special children and there teen volunteers go out to have fun with other children. Friendship Circle has powerful affect on everyone involved.The child gets to enjoy a close friend and companion and look forward to the days they get to see them. Their parent and sibling get a much needed rest knowing their child is in safe hands.As a a volunterr I have gained a greater appreciation for what I have. I have learnt that patience, love and compassion are the greatest tool to use and that nothing warms a heart more than a smile. For the above mentioned reasons this year I have decided to run 13.1 miles at the Miami ING in support of Friendship Circle, an organization that has taught so much and helped so many.
