With the country fighting both the ANC and neighbours in the Congo, Mozambique and Angola, it was a formidable prospect. In this stylish documentary Ollivier tells his part in the proceedings – as do Winnie Mandela, Thabo Mbeki, former US Secretary of State Chester Crocker, and a host of other key players. Their firsthand accounts disclose both the official and the secret dealings which led to the seemingly impossible: a Democratic South Africa.
