Pls.Read before you like: ^ANGER^ Anger is a response to a threat, insult or an unforeseen circumstance. Mind basically converts incidents into emotions like Anger, Happiness etc based on ones knowledge and memories. Anger is mostly due to our Ego. Ego often generates anger to justify itself. Anger is a response to some of these questions from our mind… What will happen to me? How can he say that to me? “Why does he think I am not good? Why did he say no to me? If we try to take us/me/I out of the situation and analyze the situation as a third person, we will stop justifying our actions and will have no conflict. Conflict… A person asked his Guru, Why conflicts happen? So the Guru said to his disciple that the chair was his and he wanted it. The disciple was ready to give it up. The Guru said he can never teach him conflict as he did not consider it his own. In short conflict arises only when ME and MINE comes into play. Most of the crimes done are in a fit of anger. If a murderer had made his decision when he was calmer the crime would have never been committed. A judge was once presented a prisoner and on the day of the judgment the prisoner was very provocative and had enraged the judge. The judge refused to give any judgment on that day stating that his judgment would be a response to his anger against the defendant rather than it being against the crime he had actually committed. The judge knew that, when we are angry our mind is restless and a restless mind cannot come to any appropriate decisions. A famous writer was very ticked off by a critique written by a lady. He was very angry and wrote a very harsh letter to her. But he forgot to post it. The next day when he was planning to post it he thought that he was being very harsh. If 24 hours could make such a big difference he thought he would wait another 7 days. Time took its toll on his mind and he had a change of heart. He started realizing that the lady was right and finally ended up marrying her…Time is a great healer. When faced with emotions like anger if we take a step back and try to analyze our actions as a third person we would be able to analyze the situation more calmly and arrive at better decisions. Heaven and hell is on earth. When we are angry or have other negative thoughts we are in HELL and when we are happy and have positive thoughts we are in HEAVEN. Like Buddha had said… “You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.”
