Pls, why are people so quick to think ur wedding is close when u raise d subject of mariage for discusion? To become a catholic priest take abt 4-8 yrs after minor seminary, ordained pastor 2-3yrs as d case may be, medical doctor 6yrs, medical radiographer 5yrs, lawyer 5yrs, engineer 5yrs, acountant 4yrs, bacherlor in nursing 5yrs, economist 4yrs... etc. But, whn it comes to d most important institution ordained by God on earth which is marriage, many shy away frm equiping themselves for a long time with necessary KNOWLEDGE adequately before venturing into it... Many think, once ure of age and ur pucket is ok, ure inevitably due for marriage; they would not want to hv anythng to do wt d subject marriage until whn they think they are ready for marriage... I remember how trivialising and ridiculous my colleague spoke of some singlehood/mariage books I recently laid my hand on. But this same person could spend quality time to read a book of 400pages in other subjects...preferably of power or wealth. ...just wondering, where is d place of preparation whn it come to marriage? Is there anything like d school of marriage, if theres, hw long does it take? Is it really important to take time to study abt Gods original intent for marriage, male and female gender differences, essense of true love, purpose of singlehood...etc ???
