Poem: Bliss Poet: Shomo Boyce Bliss Am I happy? Yes I like to fool myself into thinking that I am When I’m not I’m an empty soul Full of sin who feels no guilt or holds no regret A person who makes promises that are never kept Because he has never received what was promised to him Always being the disappointment or the disappointed Always being overlooked never being the appointed Because this soul apparently can’t be trusted So in return is pressured by his oppressors And occasionally retaliates on his aggressors But the result is always ugly Yes quite unattractive Despite the fact he is fighting for a reason Every single move he makes is considered treason In the eyes of those who are always the first to judge... But yet are always the ones who need the real judgment The ones who believe their characteristics surpass others they consider to be “the lesser species” Makes you wonder what ever happened to “everyone is equal”? You see slavery was the only the beginning And in the 21st century we are struggling to survive the sequel The mentality to have is one “that if you can’t beat them then you better join them” And if you can’t join them try your best to beat them And even if you lost the fight after all your tears, blood and sweat Do as I do and learn to accept Follow my path of peace And as you reach near the end simply make a wish I wished to forever have a slight feeling of bliss… Although I learned to accept I still have a deep dark confession Bliss is still not enough. Does that answer your question? 20th December, 2013 5:47am
