Poetry Workshop with Vona Groarke at Athlone Literary Festival Friday, October 4th, 2:00-5:00pm, Shamrock Lodge Hotel Award-winning Irish poet Vona Groarke offers aspiring poets a unique three hour workshop focusing on poetic technique, structure and style. Participants are invited to bring along samples of their work for critical feedback. Vona Groarke lives in the U.K. where she teaches in the Centre for New Writing at the University of Manchester. She has published five collections , most recently Spindrift, a PBS Recommendation in Autumn 2009. Her translation of Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill’s classic eighteenth-century Irish elegy was published in 2008 as Lament for Art O’Leary. Her poems have recently been published in Poetry London, Poetry Review, The Edinburgh Review, The Dark Horse and Poetry Daily. Her sixth collection, X, is due for publication in early 2014.
