Poetry isnt so much the use of fine words, as it is the fine use - TopicsExpress

Poetry isnt so much the use of fine words, as it is the fine use of words. I love how they use startling words to describe docile things (a group of children bundled up to keep warm while playing in the snow is described in words evocative of wolves and strangulation) and yet the one thing which should be startling (blood in the snow when a child falls over) is conveyed by a most docile reference to strawberries.
