Poets, comedians, storytellers...is not our job to entice the idea - TopicsExpress

Poets, comedians, storytellers...is not our job to entice the idea that there is an alternative to what is being sold us. Our planet, our lives our cultures all are shaped by stories...it is time to start telling alternative stories. Stories that do not uphold the growing disparity between classes, one ruling body perpetuating an unjust system, budgets that cut from the marginalised and take not from the rich, govt leaders that promise the world so they get into power, that keep children seeking safety in barbed wire fence compounds... SO many of us feel disenfranchised and all we want to do is rage and wear our F#%K Tony t-shirts. Yet I wonder what it looks like instead for an alternative story to be told. I wonder if such stories cant set a spark by which the wind of our discontent cannot be turned into positive actions that challenge a system and change the atmosphere of an entire nation. Could story change this place we call home? Could we find a way for our storytelling to be heard not just by the choir but by the masses? Can we imagine and see something new emerge? These are the questions that are invading my head space right now. And then I see 10million people have watched this interview with Russell and think...maybe...just maybe... he might not have the answers, I dont either...but he has the questions...we have the questions...we have have the stories...I dont know, maybe I am just a dreamer...but lets at least dream together that things could be different. https://youtube/watch?v=3YR4CseY9pk
