Points payoff, girls! Heres the scoop: My beloved hubby, David and my son were GIANT Lord of the Rings fans. They read the books, would spend hours discussing characters, watching the movies. David even carved Zach the most beautiful Gandolf staff for Christmas last year. So, Zach and I have decided to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip! Were heading to The Shire! Flying to Australia where we will get on a ship and sail around New Zealand. Going to ride a horse for hours, hike through the home of Hobbits and Dwarfs... Visit the movie sets and at some point sprinkle a little dirt from Davids grave across the mountains. ALL this because I have saved points!! THANK YOU to American Express, Delta Airlines and Expedia! Im soooo excited! The trip is done with very little money out of pocket! While I sniffled and mumbled my gratitude over the phone to the Delta rewards lady she paused and said, May I ask - is this THE Chonda Pierce!? Id know your voice anywhere!!? Ha! Well, lets see if they know it down under!
