Police Arrest Kidnappers And Child Traffickers in Imo State The Nigerian Police have arrested two suspects alleged to have snatched two babies from their parent at Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Owerri, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, told journalists that the suspects were arrested by the command’s ambush squad after getting some intelligence report about the incident. The two suspects gruesomely murdered one Madukalu Okechukwu for recognizing them while they forcefully snatched the two children from their mothers at their residence in Ahiazu, Mbaise Local Government Area of the state. Two other suspects were also paraded over the alleged kidnapping of a 60-year old woman, who was held in a building at Obollo Eziama in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. The building, which looked like an abandoned building on outside had a temple-like receptacle, cloths, bags and plates scattered all over inside the house to deceive the eye. “The place serves as a nest for criminal activities,” Channels Television’s correspondent said. The kidnapped woman, Mrs Margaret Odor, was held in the building for two days against her will by the kidnappers who demanded a ransom of 30 million Naira (about 188,000 dollars) . “I was on my way back from church, and as I was about opening my car door, four men accustomed me with their arms and asked me to follow them or they will kill me,” Mrs Odor said. The suspects, Maduabuchi Chikodi and Jude Ihentuge, who kidnapped Mrs Odor, were arrested by the police in Anambra State. The police said that their confessions showed that they had knowledge of the crime. Mr Katsina warned all miscreants deviant of his warning against crime in the state to desist from such as formidable structures had been put in place to tackle crime and other related offences in the state.
