Police Department Daily Blotter-Tuesday, October 21, 2014 •0100: A resident of the Chilkoot Subdivision requested assistance in ensuring that there were no bears in the subdivision area as he was walking home. The caller’s wife had called him to advise she had seen two bears that she had scared away. Dispatch confirmed with the caller the bears had been scared away, and advised the caller to make noise and shine his flashlights around. A HBPD officer was advised and notification sent to AST and F&G. •0400: A resident of Comstock Rd. reported bear activity. The caller advised it sounded like a bear was trying to get into garbage stored in her yard. The caller advised the garbage was not inside a containment building. Dispatch confirmed the caller did not feel her life was endangered at this time. The caller was advised by dispatch how to try to scare the bear away. HPBD, AST, and F&G notified. •0817: A 911 hang up call was received and confirmed to have been an accidental call from a business line at store on Main St. •1200: A resident of Lynn View Rd. reported that her backdoor was found open on Monday (10/20). The caller advised there was nothing missing or damaged. She was reporting the incident only as information because of the cars on Comstock. HBPD officers notified. •2030: A caller on FAA Rd. reported a trailer in the roadway.
