Police Hand in Harassing a Pastor by Fanatic Hindus in Mangalore? Mangalore, September 07, 2013: Pastor M.S. Shamraj is in charge of “Blessing A.G. Church” at Kuloor, in the coastal outskirts of Mangalore in Karnataka. He has his church in a leased building in Kuloor and he has a congregation of about 170 believers. But he lives in the neighbouring village of Kodical. He has been catering to the spiritual needs of his congregation during the last 18 years without any hassle or any outside interference till very recently when the police came and cautioned and also warned him which thoroughly baffled the pastor as he could not understand what exactly was happening. It was on 24th of August 2013 when Police Inspector Umesh Kumar from Kavoor Police Station came to his church and warned him of illegally running his church and that they cannot give him any police protection, and that there was a possibility of an imminent attack on his church. Then he was also asked to go to the police station for further investigation in the matter. When the pastor accordingly went to the police station, he was questioned and grilled for nearly 2 hours with all sorts of queries. He was also asked for details about the believers who are members of his church. The pastor was thoroughly disturbed by the unexpected developments of the day threatening him and his congregation. Necessary police protection is being given to the pastor and his church now and the prayer services are going on as usual. Please pray for them.
