As a Livermore Police Officer… Trainees are sent to a police academy; and receive paid training and benefits while attending; On-the-job field training is provided by highly qualified Field Training Officers; You will patrol the streets of Livermore; enforce law and order; conduct investigations and solve crimes; You will receive departmental support for ongoing training and continuing education. In addition to the employment application, Police Trainees must submit the following official test results: POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) Written Test: Passing T-Score = 50 or higher Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB) Physical Agility Test: Passing Score = 320 or higher DEADLINES Employment Application: 10/4/13 at 5 p.m. POST Written & Physical Agility Tests: 11/8/13 at 5 p.m. We will accept results from tests taken between 4/4/13 - 11/8/13. Select police academies will administer the written and physical agility test. For a listing of California police academies, go to : post.ca.gov/basic-training-academies.aspx . Applicants for Academy Student and Academy Graduate are not required to submit their scores, but must provide proof of enrollment in or graduation from an approved California POST Police Academy. Ideal Candidate: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Police Officer applicants must meet the following minimum requirements at the time of appointment: Be at least 21 years of age Have no felony convictions Be honest and of good moral character Be a United States citizen Be free from illegal drug use - All applicants must be free of illegal drug use for a minimum of three years prior to application. Possess a high school diploma or meet P.O.S.T. GED standards - College education or honorable discharge from the military is highly desirable. Possess a valid California Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record as determined by a thorough background investigation.
