Police and state house operatives storm Kagingos home A combined team of state house officials and police Flying squad over the weekend stormed the presidential assistant for communications Ms Sarah Kagingos home in Muyenga. Highly placed sources told this newspaper that the operatives from state house accompanied by police went to Ms Kagingos home to recover the official car that has been in her possession. This followed a series of activities at State Houses Presidential Press unit with conflicts over president Musevenis Facebook account and Twitter handle. A statement released from State House last week on Tuesday indicated that the president had suspended Ms Kagingo for misconduct and mismanaging his social media platforms. I personally suspended Kagingo for misconduct and she does not have any role in handling the State House website or my social media platforms. This is a responsibility that falls under my ICT department, a statement read in part. This was in the wake of reports that Ms Kagingo had ordered the arrest of Joseph Owino, a man she suspected of hacking into the presidents social media platforms. Owino who was arrested on Kagingos orders was later released on a presidential directive as investigations continued. The statement also indicated that the president had directed the Inspector General of Police to probe Kagingos conduct. But Kampala metropolitan spokesperson Mr Patrick Onyango denied reports that Kagingos official vehicle had been taken. They wanted to take the vehicle because they needed to use it for work for duty purposes but she (Kagingo) refused to open the gate, Mr Onyango said. He also dismissed police involvement in the attempts to take away the vehicle. Those people where Kagingo worked came to us for directions to her house and we only escorted them, that is the only thing we did, Mr Onyango said. When this reporter contacted Kagingo, she declined to comment on the matter saying she is not allowed to speak to the media. However, her sister Rehema Kagingo said Ms Kagingo (Sarah) has not used the official car in months. She uses her private car. Why doesnt the comptroller write to her or send a driver instead of sending flying squad lads. Were they going to fly into her home? Why does police deploy flying squad to Sarahs home? Sarah is just a girl, unarmed. Imagine how much her babies are traumatised. I saw their heads peeping out, at the windows crying, she said. monitor.co.ug/News/National/Police-and-state-house-operatives-storm-Kagingo-s-home/-/688334/2508870/-/udbu3rz/-/index.html
