Police appeal after man assaulted – Hurstville Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sustained serious injuries during an assault at Hurstville yesterday. About 3.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 July 2014), a 29-year-old man was walking along Woodville Street when three men allegedly set upon him. One of the men allegedly punched the man a number of times before he fell to the ground. Police have been told one of the men then kicked the man as he lay on the ground. The trio was last seen running south on Woodville Street towards Crofts Lane. A witness from a nearby business contacted police from St George LAC - NSW Police Force, who attended the location and established a crime scene. The man was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital with a fracture to his skull and bleeding on the brain. He currently remains in a critical condition in hospital. Detectives would now like to speak with three men who may be able to assist with their inquiries. The first man was last seen wearing an orange jumper and the second man was last seen wearing a grey jumper.
