Police appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured in crash – Lake Macquarie Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash at Lake Macquarie today. Shortly after 3.30pm today (Tuesday 3 June 2014), emergency services were called to Wild Duck Drive at Cams Wharf, in the Lake Macquarie region, following a crash. Emergency services located a motorcycle rider, aged in his 50s, who had fallen from his vehicle and suffered serious injuries. The rider was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics after losing an arm and a leg in the crash. He was later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition. Police have established a crime scene and close the road while they investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators believe that another vehicle may have been involved in the crash and left the area prior to police arrival. The vehicle has been described as being similar to a black Toyota Camry, with damage to the front on the driver’s side. Any witnesses to the incident are urged to come forward.
