Police appeal for information after man left with fractured skull following assault – Wee Waa Issued at 5:30pm, Sunday 23 November 2014 Police are investigating the serious assault of a man at Wee Waa, west of Narrabri, this morning. About 12:30am, Sunday 23 November 2014, a man was walking home towards Rose Street when he was approached from behind and punched in the back of the head by an unknown person. He sustained significant head injuries as a result of the assault and walked to a friend’s house on George Street where he sought assistance. The 28-year-old man was driven to Wee Waa Hospital before being transferred to Tamworth Base Hospital where scans confirmed he had sustained a fractured skull, fractured cheekbone and bruising. Police from Barwon Local Area Command were informed about the assault and conducted searches of George and Rose Street but were unable to locate where the incident occurred. Local police are continuing investigations into the assault and urge anyone with information that could assist with inquiries to contact Narrabri Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
