Police are appealing for information and urging parents to reinforce the ‘stranger danger’ message with their children after a man approached a girl in Derby. At around 6.20pm on Tuesday, June 25, a nine-year-old girl was walking along Fieldsway Drive, when a man pulled up alongside her. He got out of the car and reached out toward her but she ran away. She has described the car as red with four doors. The man is aged in his late teens or early 20s. He had black spiky hair and wore a light blue t-shirt and dark blue jeans. He wore a stud in one ear. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
