Police are continuing their efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the situation at Martin Place. Due to operational reasons, we cant go into exact details at present, but no one has been injured as far as we know. We are operating according to our Counter Terrorism protocols, with our Counter Terrorism and Security Command in charge of this operation. Police have established a perimeter encompassing Hunter, Pitt, King and Phillip streets. In order to assist police efforts, we ask people to stay away from the Sydney CBD, particularly Martin Place. If you have finished work, or are about to leave, please proceed home via your usual transport arrangements. Please note buses are operating to schedule, although there are some delays at the northern end of the CBD. Eastern suburbs buses are leaving from Elizabeth Street at St James. Trains are operating normally, although Martin Place station has been closed during the operation. Train, bus and ferry tickets can be used interchangeably. Further information go to the Transport Info Line 131 500 or LiveTraffic.au The traffic situation in and around the city is subject to review by Traffic and Highway Patrol officers, but expect possible delays. There are disruptions around the Hyde Park area.
