Police are investigating a break-in and attempt aggravated robbery at Kilburn last night. At about 10pm, a woman was walking home to her unit complex on Churchill Road when she saw two men acting suspiciously in the car park and two other men climbing down from the second floor unit balcony. As the victim got closer, three of the four men approached her and demanded her handbag. A scuffle broke out and the woman was assaulted before the suspects ran off empty handed. Police were called and after further investigation, discovered one of the units had been broken into and a wallet stolen while the occupants were asleep inside. A search of the vicinity also uncovered another handbag at the rear of the property believed to have been stolen from a car which was parked in the complex. Police patrolled the area but were unable to locate the suspects who are all described as men of Aboriginal appearance. Police ask anyone with information that may assist police with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
