Police are investigating a carjacking at Fairfield West yesterday where a man was assaulted. About 11.30pm (Tuesday 5 August 2014), a 46-year-old man was driving a blue Toyota Avalon along The Horsley Drive, when he was flagged down by a female who appeared injured on the side of the road. The woman asked the man to be taken to hospital, before she got into the car. The man drove to Fairfield Hospital when woman refused to get out of the car and demanded the man take her back towards the Fairfield CBD. Police have been told, the man drove to the intersection of Polding Street and the Cumberland Highway when the woman demanded the man stop and get out of the car. The woman then allegedly assaulted the man, causing him to fall to the ground. She drove from the scene, taking the man’s car. The man suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment. Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command were contacted and commenced investigations. As they continue their inquiries, police would like to speak to a woman who may be able to assist with their inquiries. She is described as being of slim build, about 40-years-old, tall, and may have a visible head injury.
