Police are investigating the assault of two men, who were struck with a bottle, in the Sydney CBD early this morning. About 3:45am, Sunday 15 September 2013, two men and three women were walking along Liverpool Street when they were approached from behind by a group of males. A male struck one of the men on the back of the head with the bottle. His friend chased the group towards Central Local Court where he was struck in the face with the broken bottle and sustained a number of lacerations to his face. The group of males fled the scene running north along Pitt Street. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and a 25-year-old man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of facial injuries. His friend, also aged 25, declined medical treatment. Detectives are investigating the assault and are looking for two men who have been described as being of Asian appearance. One of the men is further described as being about 170cm tall with short bright orange hair, wearing a black jacket and orange jeans. The other man was wearing a red t-shirt. Investigations into the assaults are continuing and police urge anyone with information about the identity and whereabouts of the two men to come forward.
