Its hard for me to determine rather of not I like The Expendables - TopicsExpress

Its hard for me to determine rather of not I like The Expendables franchise. On the one hand I grew up with these action icons like Stallone and Arnold so I do enjoy seeing them again in these big budget junk movie style blockbusters. These guys have been doing action movies for a long time and I do enjoy seeing them reaffirm how much they still got it. On the other hand I cant really appreciate these movies mostly because they havent been as good as they should have been in my opinion and yet it, as well as many other overrated pieces of crap, are still banking in tons of cash at the box office thereby causing other more interesting movie ideas to get shot down. Watch the video I have attached to see what Im talking about. Im bringing this up because I want to be excited for The Expendables 3. It has a director whos previous work I have not yet seen but is relatively an unknown, the action scenes in the trailer look more clean cut and better choreographed and they got a few more of my action icons to boot. However, for all I know, this new director has no talent, the action scenes have been deceptively clean cut in the trailers only to turn out horrible in the actual film, part of the screenplay comes to us curtsy of the guys who wrote Olympus Has Fallen and the aforementioned additional action heroes are no longer really heroic in my book. Notably Mel Gibson for his crazy inhuman behavior and Wesley Snipes for his unprofessional spoiled brat pretentiousness (not to mention his tax evasion). So, all I have to say about The Expendables 3 at this moment is that I genuinely hope its better than the previous two in that it actually does more than cash in on the delivery of classic icons and actually has some genuine effort put into it. escapistmagazine/videos/view/the-big-picture/3281-The-Numbers
