Police have charged a man after an alleged assault following a brawl at Moorebank last night. About 10.50pm (Wednesday 24 December 2014), police were called to a hotel on Stockton Avenue, Moorebank, after reports of a brawl. Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command attended and the crowd began to disperse. A 48 year-old man from Moorebank, allegedly pushed police, a struggle ensued and an officer received a minor injury as a result. The man was arrested and released pending further inquiries. A short time later, a 21-year-old man, who had just arrived in a taxi, approached four people standing on Stockton Avenue and allegedly punched a 20-year-old man to the face. The older man was arrested by police and taken to Liverpool Police Station. The younger man was treated by Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment of a facial injury. The 21-year-old was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, he was given conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Monday 5 January 2015.
