Police in Ipswich are asking residents to be extra vigilant following the death of two dogs at McGill Street in Basin Pocket. On January 20, two dogs are believed to have been baited with an unknown substance, with both dogs dying as a result. Acting Senior Sergeant Jacqueline Munn said police wanted to inform the public due to safety concerns for children and other animals who could come into contact with the poisons. “Our initial inquiries suggest this was an isolated incident but we will continue to investigate further,” Acting Senior Sergeant said. “However, public safety is our main concern and our message is for residents to remain vigilant. Monitor your pets’ health and if you have any concerns seek medical assistance immediately.” Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously 1800333000 mypolice.qld.gov.au/ipswich/2015/01/22/ipswich-pet-owners-urged-remain-vigilant/
