Police searching for stolen silver, light blue Lexus RX350 involved in hit-and-run of police officer on 118 Avenue The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a stolen 2015 silver or light blue Lexus RX350 SUV believed to have struck a police officer earlier this afternoon. Downtown Division patrol members were responding to a reported fraud at a financial institution near 118 Avenue and 79 Street at approximately 4:40 p.m. earlier today, Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014. Police officers quickly spotted the suspect vehicle backing into a parking stall outside of the financial institution and positioned their police cruiser directly facing the suspect vehicle. Standing beside the police cruiser, an officer then instructed a male suspect to step out of the vehicle, when the male suspect is alleged to have accelerated striking the front of the cruiser and the leg of the member. The officer was treated for minor injuries on scene. The officers were subsequently able to successfully identify and arrest a female suspect, who allegedly attempted to cash a fraudulent cheque inside the financial institution. Charges are pending. The male suspect is described as being a clean cut, Caucasian male with blue eyes, likely in his 30s. Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the suspect or the stolen Lexus with the licence plate number of CUL418 is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
