Polio Immunization Campaign 6th to 10th December 2014 Following ongoing polio outbreaks in some of our neighboring countries and low immunization coverage in some counties, everyone in Kenya is at risk of getting polio. There is no cure for polio; it can only be prevented by getting the polio vaccine. The Polio vaccine is safe for your child. From Saturday 6th to Wednesday 10th December 2014, the Ministry of Health together with WHO and UNICEF is carrying out a polio vaccination campaign in 8 counties namely Nairobi, Lamu, Tana River, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Marsabit and Turkana. Parents or caregivers with children in these counties are reminded to get their child under the age of five years vaccinated against polio by the visiting health teams that are going house to house. Incase your house has not been visited, go to the nearest health facility. Don’t miss out! Vaccinate and protect your child now!
