Political appointees in the Obama administration have been found to use secret government email addresses to conduct agency business. The EPA’s former chief Lisa Jackson was revealed to have done this and later resigned, but the AP has identified the Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Services engaging in the use of secret email aliases as well. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was found to use a secret address — [email protected]. Exactly how many appointees and government employees are using secret email accounts is unknown. The AP has not yet received responses to its FIOA requests for email lists from several agencies and government departments.
