Political language check: European elections edition. UKIP are racist, mysoganist, homophobic and generally bigoted. That isnt the same as fascist/neo-nazi, and to say so is to dilute political language. Its hugely embarrassing they won none the less. Similarly, these are not attributes that only exist on the right but you can be all of these things and on the left - Cuba is notoriously not nice to the gays, and not exactly a neo-liberal haven, for example. To attribute all negative qualities to those you disagree with is probably human, definitely easy, but disappointing in a thoughtful person. I dont expect more from politicians, of course. More precision in use of language in politics would be nice - but I wont hold my breath *goes back to reading George Orwell.
