Politicians and public servants who steal public funds kill more people than the average Joe, the compound dweller who goes to jail for killing one person. Money doesnt go to fixing roads, this in turn drives up the rate in infant and maternal deaths because the women and children cant get to health centers. Education is affected. Schools have to close because teachers dont want to travel to those remote places. Costs are too high and the journeys to difficult. Girls are grow up without a formal education. They get pregnant at an early age. Boys migrate to town seeking opportunities and become the average Joe, the Compound dweller. Beyond the barbed wire fence, the sons and daughters of those who steal, celebrate their achievements after graduating. They cant walk the streets because theyre too afraid of the average Joe, the Compound dweller who is out to snatch their phones and steal their cars.
