Pollution and high levels of toxins in soil, drinking water, etc., is not just a problem in China. We have the problem here in Canada and the USA as well! We spray our fields and forests with toxic pesticides and herbicides as well. We also dump industrial waste water in our rivers. Did you know that the certified organic logo on a product does not mean it is free of toxic pesticides? Last summer, I called around certified organic farms in Quebec, New Brunswick, and the USA; and they explained to me that they are still allowed to spray their crops with pesticides/herbicides, as long as it is a kind that is biodegradable. !!!!???!!!! How long does it take to biodegrade??? A week? A month? Years? Or decades? Because, I just bought your certified organic apples and I am planning to eat them within the next week. So the pesticides will biodegrade in my body? What will it do to my health if it does? If the scientific studies show that it kills insects within days or weeks, I can just imagine what it does to us humans who consume these products regularly over a life time... neuro-endocrine problems, cancer, etc. cbc.ca/player/News/ID/2496001400/
