Polly in Tasrail asked me to insert this post, which was initially sent to the Whats On In New Norfolk FB page, on the Tasrail FB page, - so here it is: The couple who were seen picking blackberries on the railway formation at Dromedary at 10.55 this morning (i.e., Wednesday 26th) had more than one guardian angel. Firstly, had a train or other rail vehicle come along, they would have had NOWHERE to go, to avoid being run over. Except, of course, well into the blackberries. That accounts for Angel No. 1. The second was myself. I notified Tasrail Train Control of their presence, in case something was approaching their location. Very fortunately for them, there was nothing due along. A train is not something you argue with. It cannot swerve, it cannot brake as quickly as a car. Rail safety is everyones business. Trespassing on a railway is extremely dangerous and its illegal. This was seen and liked by Wendi G, who replied: They have been up along there all week picking blackberrys. I had been wondering this myself. Omg there cant be many berries left; I saw them at 7.45 am on the way taking my kids to catch the bus. They would be the first to complain if they got hurt.
