Poole residents are to be charged for dumping some kinds of waste as the council seeks to save £50,000. From October 1 visitors to the household waste and recycling centre at Nuffield will have to pay to dispose of asbestos, plasterboard, gas canisters, tyres and soil and rubble. The charges have not yet been set but will be decided by the head of consumer protection over the next few weeks.
