Poor BSNL service irks subscribers in Gurez =>The cell phone subscribers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Gurez Tehsil of Bandipora have complained about erratic mobile service in the district. The subscribers have threatened to surrender their SIM cards if the BSNL officials failed to improve the service. “The subscribers are facing immense problems due to frequent call drops and poor network and connectivity,” a group of people availing the BSNL service in Gurez Tehsil told CNS adding that they had to redial the number several times to get the call connected. “The BSNL service is extremely poor in our area and we are facing lot of problems due to the poor connectivity,” they said adding that the towers erected by BSNL in the area are functionless while no official shows keenness to redress the problems of the subscribers. The inhabitants of Gurez said the authorities are not keen to develop the telecommunication system in the area due to the reasons best known to them. “The BSNL tower remains out of the order for most of the times during the day,” the residents complained. Locals said the tower does not function during the day time. “It is unfortunate that the generator at the tower is not being used during the power outage due to which the tower remain defunct,” they said. They urged the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene in the matter.
