Port Edward Hotel, The Edwardian is one of the exclusive Premier Hotels in South Africa. It offers guests 75 beautifully decorated rooms to choose from. There are 69 double suites and 6 standard suites. The 4 three-bedroom units have their own kitchenettes with a stove, fridge, microwave oven and coffee/tea making facilities. The single bed units are great for in-room dining. The luxury double units come with queen-size beds, dressed in percale linen and connected to en suite bathrooms. There are also conference facilities in the hotel, which is ideal for the corporate traveller. Port Edward has the smallest desert in the world which is unique to South Africa. Umtamvuna Estuary is a great vantage point from which to view the entire Red Desert. Umtamvuna Nature Reserve Trails meanders through the entire conservation area. Hiking is a great way to explore Port Edward. The reserve itself is home to wildlife such as the Cape vulture, the Fish eagle, and baboons. Another trail is the Amadiba Horse Trail, which is great on horseback.
