Position Description: Restore Vehicle Driver Reports to: Restore Manager or Assistant Manager Supervises: N/A FLSA Classification: P/T, Hourly Position Description: The Driver will drive Restore vehicles to donor sites as instructed to by supervisors and by routine route donation reports as may be provided. The Driver will be responsible to interact effectively with donor representatives to acquire the building materials, appliances and furniture to be marketed at the Home Improvement Outlet. The Restore Vehicle Driver will work with the assistant driver/volunteers to ensure that all donations are received in a timely, organized and safe manner. It shall be the Vehicle Driver’s responsibility to coordinate and communicate effectively with warehouse employees regarding the nature of the donations and the related off loading and handling requirements. The Driver is to be available to assist with other duties when not devoting time and attention to the transportation of donations. Job Responsibilities: Quality control responsibilities for the safe, effective transport of donations. Load, secure, transport and unload donations. Maintain loading areas in clean, efficient and workable condition. Return donor calls on a timely basis. Organize picks ups by location/area for efficiency and punctuality. Screen products offered for donation for compliance with acceptance standards and effectively communicate exceptions. Coordinate and cooperate with volunteers to make their experience with the Habitat Home Improvement Outlet mutually beneficial. Available to move inventory items with forklift equipment as needed. Available to assist with other duties as may be indicated by the Manager or Assistant Manager Exhibit positive working attitude by demonstrating respect for fellow workers, donors and customers. Qualifications and Experience Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiar with driving patterns in the Fresno County area. Possess a valid California Drivers license and a good driving record. Exhibit reasonable mechanical aptitude about equipment and vehicles. History of experience operating fork lift and/or scissor lifts equipment. Demonstrate reasonable familiarity with building materials. Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand, squat, bend and climb in and out of a truck.
