Post for February 3, 2014 Did you know….. There are 31 chapters of Proverbs…I realize that we have a different calendar than was available at the time this was written. But I believe this is a blessing that we as believers often neglect. What difference would be reflected in our daily lives, if we would read a chapter in Proverbs each day? This is a convenient challenge since there is one chapter for each day of the month including those with 31 days. My husband and I took this challenge first in 2003. We would get up early enough to read the chapters together. Often times on the front porch swing overlooking a small town reservoir and a sleepy community. I did not feel any wiser; it actually revealed what I needed to improve daily. On my own I am very foolish and often very gullible. This is a great reminder that we need God’s help to live and act with wisdom. Knowledge without wisdom is dangerous. James 1:5-6 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” Realize you need to be careful what you request….
