Postcard from Droitwich. Someone betrayed me today, someone I thought I could trust. I find it hard to understand why people cannot treat people like they themselves would like to be treated. Upon discovering the deceit, I couldn’t help but feel more disappointed than angry. I am just getting my head around the thought of trusting people again and not doubting them. Moreover, I am slowly winning my battle to leave behind the bitterness and resentment that has built up inside me and forgive other peoples mistakes then I get another knock back. This will not stop me from doing what I am doing, which is trying to be honest with myself and others and attempting not to judge people. I spoke to Nikki the other day, she said you can judge peoples actions and deeds but you shouldn’t judge them as human beings, she cited a phrase that I have used, until you walk in their shoes you do not really understand them. I am not sure if I am entirely in agreement with that. All this pissed me off, it really did, after having a nice night out previously and looking forward to a weekend away it put a bad taste in my mouth and bad thoughts in my head. The journey up to Colchester to pick up Marie couldn’t be completed quickly enough. After a reassuring hug from her we set off for Droitwich Spa. I have bought some eBay goodies up there and also have sold a few bits which people from further afield were going to collect from me up there, so it was actually three birds with one stone. We had a nice journey up really, Marie and I talked about the morning’s events and also what has been going through my mind since we last saw each other last weekend. Conversation then changed to what was on the menu for today and tomorrow. She booked the hotel, I couldn’t be doing with the stress of it, she has also done the homework on the see and do list, on the way up she picked out a national trust place to visit. Waddesdon Manor is situated not far from Aylesbury off the M40. It was the family home of Baron Rothschild and is 19th century manor house of epic proportions. The house was built in the Neo-Renaissance style of a French château and it is filled with priceless artwork from Russia, France and many other European countries. The Rothschild family have Jewish connections so there is a few bits from Palestine and Israel too. It is set in massive grounds that are so big there is a park and ride scheme in operation to and from a massive car park about a mile away yet it is still in the grounds! There is an excellent array of soft and hardwood trees which surround manicured gardens leading up to the house itself. Stunning inside, it really was, tall ceilings ridiculously wide staircases and hallways to admire and beautiful coving and wooden panelling adorned all the rooms. It was both an educational and a relaxing couple of hours. We are now at the hotel planning to get changed and after a pick up from a customer we are going into the town for a quiet drink. Might even go looking for a karajoke ;) Love to you all, Michael xx
