Today we were privileged to have a visit from holocaust survivor, Leslie Kleinman, who was born in Romania in 1929. He spoke to Year 9 students, who grabbed this amazing opportunity with both hands and made Cecil Jones proud. Mr Kleinman spoke of his time in the ghetto at Sat Mare on the Romanian/Hungarian border and in great detail of his time in Auschwitz. This was a rare and unique opportunity for our students and they made a real impression on Leslie, so much so that he is keen to come back and see us again. Mr Kleinman went on to spend a lot of time in Base 180, showing his commitment to and respect for education and equality of opportunity. We thank Mr Kleinman for his enlightening visit, and Mr Maher and the Humanities department for organising it.
