Centuries ago, there were hundreds of thousands of Christians learning about the Lord & growing in their faith, just like we are today. Times have changed greatly, but learning about the profound love of God is timeless and something that we as humans will always be seeking to understand & learn more about. For me, reading the prayers of Christians that have gone before us is not only inspiring, but helps encourage me in my walk with God. It gives me food for thought. This prayer is one of my favorites. Powerful words....and a great way to start your week! Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
